Waaqeffannaa oromo religion, Core Beliefs & Practices: 1

Waaqeffannaa oromo religion, The followers of 'Waaqeffannaa' do believe in only one Supreme Being called Waaqa (literary translated as God). 'Waqeffannaa' literary means believe in one Waaqa-the supreme being. From Waaqaa, the Oromo indigenous concept of the Supreme Being Waaqeffanna evolved as a religion of the entire Oromo nation before the introduction of the Abrahamic religions among the Oromo and a good number of them converted mainly to Christianity and Islam. Waaqeffannaa religion of the Oromo people of East Africa is one of the oldest indigenous and monotheistic religions exercised by African peoples since time immemorial. Waaqeffannaa, the Oromo Indigenous religion, is a monotheistic faith centered on the Supreme Being Waaqaa. Lack of media coverage suggests an intentional suppression of religious violence against non-Abrahamic faiths. It aimed to explore status of Waaqeffannaa religion in interreligious interaction. It centers on the worship of **Waaqa (God)**, a supreme, omnipresent deity associated with the sky, nature, and moral order. It will be significant to examine Waaqeffannaa’s complex concepts, such as concept and view of Waaqaa (God), Eebba (prayers and blessings), safuu (the place of all things and beings in the cosmic and social order), issues related to cubbuu (sin) and other religious and ritual . I will focus on the case of Waaqeffannaa, an Oromo indigenous religion of East Africa, and its core values and laws.
